The bicycle is a curious vehicle. Its passenger is its engine. ~John Howard
We have categorised all our bicycles into 3 types:
1. Road/mountain bicycle
2. City/cruiser bicycle
3. Special/professional Bicycle.
The 3 groups are based on main function of bicycles and the specific group of people the bicycles would appeal to in the context of Singapore.
In choosing a bicycle, the questions you might want to ask yourself are as follows:
1. What do I need the bicycle for?
2. What is the ideal size of the bicycle for me?
3. How much am I willing to spend on a bicycle?
Note that this guide is just to provide a rough guideline to help you choose the ideal bicycle. Bicycles are a very flexible tool, what can be done for one type of bicycle can often be performed by another. Unless you have special requirements, e.g. using the bicycle for racing, mountain riding, etc.

1. What do I need the bicycle for?
Typically, most people would want a bicycle to use as a walk-replacement tool, to commute short distances (< 10km) to work or school, to run short errands and get to places faster.
All bicycles can perform this function but with various degrees of proficiency.
The road/mountain bicycles are typically faster bicycles which is the most common type of bicycles in Singapore. The difference between mountain and road bicycles lies mainly in the structure and tires. Mountain bicycles have a stronger frame and thicker tyres, for use on more rocky surfaces.
If you need a bicycle for fetching your kids, give someone else a ride, carrying groceries or casual riding then the city/casual bicycle is the ideal type for you. City bicycles are extremely popular as well, especially among women and older people. They are known for their comfort and additional functionality (rear racks, front basket, etc.
Do not be mistaken, the city bicycle can be a fast bicycle and is a perfect tool for commuting. The difference in the 2 categories of bicycle lies mainly in the overall “feel” of the bicycle.
Lastly, if you require a bicycle with special functionality. E.g. foldability to keep the bicycle in the car trunk, electric bicycle for easier riding or a professional, high-end bicycle for racing and competition then you dive into the exact category (electric bicycle, foldable bicycle) or use our shop page to help you in your search.
2. What is the ideal size of the bicycle for me?
The size of the bicycle is generally measured by the size of the wheels. 26 inch bicycles means that the wheels of the bicycle are 26 inches in diameter. The most common size (26 inch) is suitable for most adults. Any size larger than that may be compromise on agility and flexibility of the bicycle.
However, the 24 inch and 20 inch are also very popular among adults and are solid choices to be used by most adults and teens. Larger wheels are not necessarily better, some would prefer a smaller bicycle as it is easier to maneuver and carry.
We recommend you look at this guide for more accurate analysis of bike sizes.
3. How much am I willing to spend on a bicycle?
We offer the most competitive prices for bicycles online. Compared to retail shops, bicycles of similar quality and functionality are sold at a much more affordable price.
Bicycles vary in price due to the components used (brakes, derailleur, tyres, shifters). The components work together to deliver a unique riding experience that differs across the different levels of bicycles: entry-level, mid-range or high-end. Some components are of premium quality and precise engineering is required hence they would add on to the cost of the bicycle while basic functionality components would cost less.
As a rule of thumb, at physical stores, entry-level bicycles would cost between $100-$150 and high-end bicycles can reach up to $1000 or even $3000. Again, you get what you pay for and the bicycles at our shop are much cheaper compared to other places. You can navigate to our shop to learn more.
